My work is inspired the surroundings near my studio at Morecambe Bay, near Ulverston.

I aim to create a fragile quality in my work that reflects the frail nature of that landscape and the marks and changes made by man. The repetition of the tides and the transient nature of the landscape creates memories of the changing landscape and a sense of place.

Exhibitions

My work is inspired the surroundings near my studio at Morecambe Bay, near Ulverston.

I create collections of the minute detail left behind; charred wood, rusty iron work, plastic flotsam and fishing twine all form a rich source of imagery each arranged as objects in a museum and elevated to artefacts of significance.

I use screenprinting and collagraph techniques inspired by field boundaries that define the pattern and shape of the landscape.
